Ryman has proposed building a retirement village on vacant land between Selwyn College and John Rymer Place.
In general, we believe that this site is well suited to a retirement village, but we do have concerns over aspects of the proposal. Our primary concerns relate to:

Ryman have advised that further work on this development will not take place until after October 2023. Ryman are now obliged to get a Dept of Conservation permit after a lizard colony was found and the need for colony relocation.
